VP, Operations

SUMMARY
Corporate growth depends on Hearts On Fire’s ability to expand production capability and capacity without compromising quality standards. As we expand our global sales and operations, it is imperative that our product is readily available and manufactured to our world class standards.  The Vice President Operations is responsible for all facets of the production, manufacturing, quality control, and inventory management of our product and processes, as well for the sourcing of certain materials and finished goods.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for all manufacturing processes, vendors and associated relationships; manage existing vendor base and identify new vendor opportunities where gaps exist, resulting in the timely, accurate, efficient, and economical manufacture of our product in accordance with company policy and within production specifications and schedules required
• Extensive experience in leading a global supply chain integration of operations resources, production activities and suppliers
• Foster and drive internal team motivation and positive team dynamic in support of critical contributions to customer satisfaction and to company monthly, quarterly, and annual goals and objectives
• Leadership and day to day management of extensive operations and production team, providing counsel and guidance to team
• Maintain, enforce, and develop overall quality standards and measures; drive and ensure best practices with suppliers and within the internal team
• Maintain, enforce, and develop supplier management processes that drive effective and systemic improvements in quality, accuracy, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction
• Oversee the management of inventory levels for all inventory categories (finished goods, components, work in process), maximizing the inventory investment and on hand quantities  
• Assist with assessing new product manufacturability and ensure that production competencies and capabilities are in place for prototypes and models; work closely with the design team to determine the manufacturability of designs, selecting the appropriate vendor capable of accomplishing specific designs
• Establish facility and production requirements for outside manufacturers and ensure that requirements are met
• Manage continuous improvement and cost savings projects, facilitating a “lean” operations environment driving the highest level of efficiency and utilization 
• Oversee management of fulfillment times ensuring on time performance for all orders
• Manage flow of all inventory; work closely with sales and production to mitigate backlog
• Ongoing GAP analysis of operations/manufacturing team; provide training necessary to satisfy the business need or prescribe alternative measures; drive ongoing training and education programs to grow the existing team’s skills and capabilities
• Analyze the latest technology of process and/or machine(s) to further advance company manufacturing capabilities and testing/verification requirements
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
• A minimum of fifteen years of global manufacturing experience, preferably in a jewelry environment
• Progressive experience in a multi team leadership position
• Experience using, and proficiency with, ERP/MRP software applications and spreadsheet applications
• Membership in associated trade organization preferred
• Unparalleled organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and a customer service orientation
• Ability to prioritize and manage a sizable and varied workload
• Comfort working with deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Desire to work cooperatively with department colleagues and others in the organization
